we turned a dead wild pig into a salt cellar.
a collaboration with rogue taxidermist lydia comer, who also happens to be my best friend. she can draw, paint, and sew, too. we put this guy together for the co:operation tableware show during SNAG in seattle.
she did the nastification/zombification of the dead piggy, and i did the metalsmithy bits. i also cut a hole in the top of the skull. i learned that bone cutting is highly unpleasant in a number of ways.
peccary skull, oxidized sterling silver, glass taxidermy eyes, latex rubber, acrylic paint, acrylic glaze, vintage austrian crystal rhinestones, sterling silver casting grain, fine silver, cubic zirconia, synthetic rubies
