Mikyoung Jung is originally from South Korea, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Namseoul University in 2005, majoring in glass. In 2007, she furthered her art education, completing her MA in glass at the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

Jung started her PhD in visual arts at Sydney College of the Arts in August of 2010. She is currently researching in Seoul, South Korea, where she continues to develop her unique range of artworks.
