Prase Earrings Back

Because of our background in prospecting and gem cutting, we have done a lot of work preparing gems and minerals for displays in natural history museums. One such cash strapped institution we worked for paid us in rough gem-grade Prase material. Which brings us to this choice little pair of cabochon cut aqua Prase earrings. This is really rare material that was collected in the Southwest U.S during the 1930’s. The color and clarity of this material simply cannot be found any longer.

After cutting the cabochons we set them in handmade sterling silver bezels. The backs of the bezels feature a custom pieced design to allow light to glow through the stones for a beautiful effect.
