Hi Anne- good to hear from you!  Yes, this piece is mostly wet-packed. I mix colors (transparent and opaque) and also sometimes mix leaded and lead free. Mostly the lead-free from Thompson but I have a collection of leaded enamels that I've mostly found at estate sales, so I don't really know the colors or sources. I I don't know Ninomiya (had to google it), but what I found were unleaded painting enamels which is something I've played with only a little.

Happy to answer any other questions! And I saw your work in the "Best of Ohio" show... very cool!

hey emily,

i'm wondering if you could answer a couple q's for me because of things i'd like to do in my work.  in this piece above, are you wet-packing the colors where you want them?  and, do you onlly use lead-free colors from thompson?  i like some of the colors from ninamaya (may have that name wrong) but they're still lead-bearing i believe.  any help you could give would be great!  i noticed you did something with me on pinterest but i'm so naive i didn't know how to do anything back!  too bad there isn't friends on that!  peace, anne
