PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
I think the Plexiglass takes away a little from the image, but the purpose of the Plexiglas is to allow placement of the dried fruit on the Seder plate ( without touching the tin.) Some museums will not purchase Judaica if it can not be used.

Thanks for the idea for contacting National Museum of Education. Also, super thanks for including me as a featured artist this week. What an unexpected thrill!.

Comment by Harriete Estel Berman on January 6, 2012 at 6:34pm It has been my experience that political social comments in craft are a "hard sell". Craft for so many people is just skill. The other issue is that some places can't hang this from the ceiling.
I have no idea really why the Museum of Art and Design said "no" (very politely, of course.)
Comment by Suzanne Golden on January 6, 2012 at 6:29pm Oh, I am surprised..........I thought for sure one of the two would be interested......Sorry to hear that...
Comment by Harriete Estel Berman on January 6, 2012 at 6:25pm I already tried them. They said 'no'.
Comment by Suzanne Golden on January 6, 2012 at 6:25pm I just tried to "cut and paste" an article about another museum here in NYC....The New Museum, 235 Bowery, NYC....Contemporary Art....put name in Google...

This is always a challenge.

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
Please support this effort:
A group of 10 young US jewelry artists will attend Sierrad this Fall showing their work to the European market - and bringing back exciting info for all of us!
