Two-¬‐part pin. Pressed copper pocket with fabricated pin back, brass pocket watch frame with a cow skull, primrose, stargazer lily, and dahlia flowers, all of which refer to specific aspects of my life. This piece was made to be a self-portrait, and was modeled after the idea of Vanitas paintings, as well as a pocket watch that had been passed down in my family that was lost. With all the darkness in the world, I wanted to remind myself to measure life through experience, not time, and to keep humor and love close to my heart.
