The cup has been used throughout history to represent a variety of things, from burdens and responsibilities that we must bear, to our very essence. This chalice was an exploration of how I have approached those ideas in my own life, when I’ve felt that some burdens were too heavy to stand, even as I tried to rise above them, as they shaped the person I would become. The legs of the chalice were modeled after spines, sacrums, and dragonfly wings.
