"Bones" Series
Each day, when I walked out into the desert, I came to these boards. I was looking for pods. Or bones. Or something. Organic forms that wanted to be held and honored. But each day I came to these boards. Interesting, yes. And curious. But surely I couldn’t haul them out of the desert with me. I’d brought a plastic bag – not a truck.
Ultimately, of course, the light began to slant. The boards became shape-shifters – taking on their own light and shadow. Their own life. And passing it on, like and untold story – illuminating and transforming dirt, weed, dung.
Walking out that evening, laden with boards, I looked up at the desert sky - and the sky looked down. On the trails we’d taken. Tales in time. These boards/bones. And me.

I like your fond boards, and I like what you say about your encounter with them.
