This is a bamboo mosaic, 25"x 25". The darker area is bamboo that is painted with an umber glaze, and then scraped with a knife to create a tonal texture.
The rings (signifying dreams) on the domed central piece are movable. This work was inspired by a poem of the same name, by Langston Hughes.
