Witness

The Witness is a brooch that acts like a medal. This format symbolizes courage when standing up and speaking out about the suspect. On the surface of the metal, I have pierced out the symbol for the US Marshal, a star inside of a circle, which in some cultures represents protection, exactly what Marshals do for the Witness Protection Program. There is a white enameled piece with a Groucho Marx in classic glasses with large frames and nose laser etched onto it. The eyebrows and mustache are painting enamels to enhance the details. This is to disguise the witness creating an alternative identity. I give only these details so that the audience can place themselves into the story and become the witness to the crime.

Beautiful piece. But the figure you enameled looks more like Groucho Marx than Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin had the mustache, but not the glasses and eyebrows.

"This looks like it could be interesting; one of my favorite topics. Not much happening so far. I have been entering exhibitions for the last 3-4 years with success and failure. It's a difficult thing to figure out."
