Lovely did you chase and repousse the frame on this?

Lovely brooch. Very elegant work. Nice restraint with the chasing and repousse. Megan

Hi Alexia. Thanks for your comment. You've got something really romantic going on with the images of your work on the body. I love the hard flesh forms on soft fabric. Old in a new way... I saw on your website that your graduating. How excited are you?

Hi Alexia,
Thanks for the message! Things have been slow going since graduation, I've gotten a lot of experience with children since then though and some of it was teaching jewelry. I'm back at home, north of Boston, saving up for my tool/wander lust. I was hoping to get a job in the UK for a bit but they keep getting stricter with their immigration laws, snap. I just got juried into my first exhibit though in Surfacing for the Enamelist Society! How's the New Bedford scene going?

Thanks Alexia,

I'm so glad to hear that you like my work. To answer your question about going blind, yes, my eyes are terrible. I've worn glasses since I was 8 years old and without them, everything is totally out of focus unless it's literally six inches from my nose ;) I guess my body was just built for making REALLY teeny tiny detailed work.

Alexia,

Your brooches are really beautiful. They are fluid and seductive. You obviously studied metal. What is your educational background? How did you come to illustrating patent models? I seriously considered collecting patent models several years ago.

Regards,

Billie
