Profile Information

Where do you live
Toledo, OH
Place of Work (Firm, Studio, Institute, Gallery...)
I work out of my studio at home. I received a grant from the Ohio Arts Council and was able to get some needed equipment.
Additional Work Info you would like to share
I completed my BFA at Grand Valley State University and then studies in Florence, Italy for a semester before I went and received my MFA. I taught Jewelry/Metalsmithing for 2 years at a state university in Ohio. My art work is small scale sculpture. I use a combination of metal, glass, and other materials. I try to make each piece so that it has a perceived function and scientific look. This interest in science comes from my childhood. I was very active in science while I was growing up and almost studied Biology at an undergraduate student. I thank everyone who has helped me in some small way and I know I don't thank them enough.

It is a nice show. I went to the opening last Friday and I heard a lot of praise for your pieces (and you were my prof. for a year, so you make me look good too- wink wink, haha). Anyways, I am very excited to hear that you had a good experience and I am looking forward to seeing some images!

Hi Amanda,
Thank you for submitting to "DeFine Metal and Fiber", can you send me dimensions & materials as well? Also, a short statement if you like.

Best regards, Thea

Your work is amazing! One of your postcards is up in the studio at school and it is nice to see the other pieces that go with the series. Fabulous!

I am so EXCITED for you! You deserve the Artist In Residence, Just think nobody there to interrupt your work, you can really do some research and work those little fingers raw! What a GREAT opportunity. I cannot wait to see your finished work when you are done. I am certain it will be as amazing or more so than what you already stun us with! YOU GO GIRL! (But I will miss you too, no more wine tasting at the museum on Friday nights for 5 whole weeks! sniff, sniffle..... haha!) I think this is the beginning of GREAT things for you, I really do! Take as much advantage of your time as you can, and I know you will, too. YOU ROCK!!!

Really? Yaddow! No kidding. I live in Saratoga so we'll have to get together. I know you're there to work but I think they let you out for good behavior sometimes. ;-) Cool!!

Hi Amanda!

What have you been up to! How is Ohio treating you? Arizona is great right now, but we are soon approaching our hell season.
