"Michelle, this is a very informative post. I was intrigued with your inclusion of "dressing for the career you want." I say this because I've had some curious reactions from fellow artists if I come to a meeting or show or other event…"
"Lora-Lynn, who is teaching the class? Is the end goal to have a business plan?
I took an 8 week business plan class online with Jennifer Lee this year. Her course is the Right Brain Business Plan. It was great and gave me more direction. So…"
"I have taken credit cards for several years. When I started doing small local shows, I could see that I was losing some sales because I didn't take credit cards. Like Kim mentioned, some people find it easier to pull out their credit card for…"

Welcome to crafthaus ! We do not have that many Mixed Media Artists, in fact you are probably the first, so I am very glad that you have joined and cannot wait to see some images of your pieces on crafthaus. At the moment, there is a lot of activity on the site, so a lot of people would see your work. When you add images, please be sure to add them via the main PHOTO link on the website. That way your photos get added to the slideshow.
Also, please feel free to add your comments to the discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.
I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.
If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.
“While striving to incorporate fashion and function in my body of work, Joe’s was created. Reflecting on the glamor once held by tobacco use, I pulled imagery from vintage cigarette advertisements. This reminds my audience of the cultural change that has evolved into the disapproval of tobacco usage and advertising.”
"I'm pretty sure I know the online incident you are referring to Brigitte, it really shocked me too. Like Peggy, I enjoyed the technical discussions and information exchanged, but was always very confused by the odd and rather constant…"

If a post your started has…"
"I did not see the post that Brigitte (and some others) have referred to, but have noticed this phenomena on several discussion forums. It is very unfortunate that this situation seems to repeatedly happen. There are discussion forums that I…"
"Hmmm...pretty sure I know which donnybrook inspired this post. While I lurked there for the valuable information, I often found the commentary divisive, so I never participated. Why is it so difficult for some people to practice common…"
"Really happy to see this post Brigitte. Coming from a 'recent student' perspective, it is incredibly harsh to have 'professionals' in the field (who you generally admire) be unsupportive of the new craftsmen. We have…"
"Victoria, I am very sorry to hear about your experience, unfortunately, as you know, yours is not an isolated case. The response one typically receives when speaking up is to "just grow a thicker skin." Guess what, me growing a thicker…"
I witnessed a bunch of troublesome ‘discussions’ this past week. Not on crafthaus and not directed at me personally, but troublesome nevertheless. They also weren’t real discussions either, as in: a respectful exchange of opinions where one side hears the other out. It…
