Hello Chris :-) !

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through September 15, 2013.

Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!

Please note that ALL images sent to the website are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect! If your images don't get posted they do not meet crafthaus quality standards. Please review the photo guidelines under the FAQ tab.

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor at live dot com, I will do my best to be of help.

I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.

Again: Welcome !

Brigitte Martin

Steve Shelby left a comment for John Lunn
"Hi John. I love your flute. I worked at a job for 23 years making keys and the metal parts for contrabassoons. Unfortunately, there was no creativity involved. The upside is that I learned a huge amount about working with metal and making tools."

John Lunn replied to John Lunn's discussion SNAG Toronto part 4 in the group Tapestry of Talents: Bringing Your Whole Voice to Your Craft
"It is a good article. It's a bit disappointing that the 3 artists they interview are men when it was so obvious that 90% of the Trunk Show exhibitors were women. I'd like to do a blog or two on the influence of women in the arts and how it…"

Steve Shelby commented on Rebecca Rose's group Showing Publicly and Building a Legacy Privately
"Hi Rebecca. I have had probably a 50% success rate entering juried exhibitions, which I think is actually pretty good. I don't do shows where you go and peddle your wares from a booth. The exhibitions I've been in are held in art museums…"
