Behind the Brooch

This exhibition focuses on a side of the brooch we usually do not pay much attention to: the back side. Our first look is naturally always trained at the front, but when we do take the time to look at the back of a brooch, it will oftentimes reveal a surprising aspect for us, a delightful little secret. With this exhibition, I would like to let you in on that secret, something that typically only the maker and the wearer know about. I hope you will enjoy with me this selection of brooches by…See More

Hey Christine,

Thank you - I've been having some computer/email issues but they're resolved now.  I'll send my payment in to Sam per your instructions.  Your work is beautiful.  I'm really bummed that I can't make it to the ACW Conference this summer, it would be great to meet you in person.

Best,

Marcia

Hi Christine my mistake- I meant that I hope I hadnt swamped the Yahoo account. Both my submissions went to susanSilvyDesign@yahoo.com at around 17.40 this evening. They were fairly big 8mb.

Christine, thank you for your wonderful comment about my work.

This ring is close to my heart because it is one of first the things I made when I started doing metal seriously. The photographs are my samples. I only make things to order so the expense is not so terrible. I also try to keep costs down by being a one woman workshop. It takes longer to produce things but it is very satisfying and gives you control over the final product. My family and I are planning tp permanently move back to the US--Seattle-- by Christmas 2011, so we might meet after all at a conference and learn from each other. Thank you again!:)
