alice simpson said… Hi Emily and welcome,
I agree with James McKenna. Looking forward to your participation.
The crafthaus exhibitions have been quite provocative and exciting, giving opportunity for many of us to have our work considered and shown. Fees for exhibiting, packing and shipping work are becoming prohibitive and shows like Brigitte Martin's 'Humor in Craft' have been extraordinarily successful.
James McKenna said… Hi, Emily. It's great to see a curator on the site. We share a lot of encouraging comments with each other, but I hope you will a provide a different slant, with outside criticism we can use to improve our work. I hope you find the people and the work you find here interesting and appealing. Welcome!
Brigitte Martin said… Hello Emily,
Welcome to crafthaus, the network for craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through August 15, 2013.
Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!
Please note that ALL images sent to the website are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect! If your images don't get posted they do not meet crafthaus quality standards. Please review the photo guidelines under the FAQ tab.
If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor at live dot com, I will do my best to be of help.
I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.
Again: Welcome !

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
