Play That Funky Music !

Exhibition Date May 1 - June 1, 2014 You hear a piece of music and it sends you back in time. Suddenly you remember situations, sights, smells, and certain people as if it happened yesterday. What is the relationship between music and craft? Are there craft pieces that relate to favorite songs? How about a vase made while listening to opera? A table inspired by hard rock? Footwear to go with Lady Gaga? What are the lyrics that draw you in and inspire you to create?See More

Crescent Moon Armoury

Begun in 2005 by metalsmith, Parker Brown, Crescent Moon Armoury is a small business dedicated to the continuing craft of historical armour smithing.  The majority of its work focuses on historical armour for the modern collectors and martial artists.  Each piece is made according to the specific measurements and needs of the individual client.  In a modern world that has forgotten the true meaning of "custom made", Crescent Moon Armoury strives to retain, preserve and advance the true craft…See More

Behind the Brooch part 2

I am happy to share with all of you more images of wonderful brooches from artists around the word. I had so many submissions on my first call that I had to create a second part exhibition. This exhibition focuses on a side of the brooch we usually do not pay much attention to: the back side. Our first look is naturally always trained at the front, but when we do take the time to look at the back of a brooch, it will oftentimes reveal a surprising aspect for us, a delightful little secret. With…See More

Hello Erika,

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for fine craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through April 15, 2015.

Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!

Please note that ALL images sent to the website editor are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience (their peers,) so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect!

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor@live.com anytime, I will do my best to be of help.

I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.

Again: Welcome !

Brigitte Martin

Life has many layers - like lasagna.

I've been absent from these pages for the summer while I started a new book and concentrated on getting some flute projects out the door. This month I've actually (gulp) taken a spare bag or two of time to myself and done sweet fork all. What a treat that was. It's been at least a century since I could live a couple of weeks without feeling compelled to do anything.Well, not nothing... (How can any self respecting obsessive compulsive polymath really do nothing ?) That would be unconscionable.…See More
