I graduated with an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design’s Furniture Design program in 2005 with a concentration in art history. Prior to my graduate studies, I ran my own graphic design consultancy with offices in New York and the San Francisco Bay area. I teach at Columbia College in Chicago, and previously taught at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as the California College of Art (formerly CCAC) and Parsons School of Design in New York. I write about art, design and craft. I also work as an independent curator and my exhibition "The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft" is traveling around the country and currently at the Asheville Museum of Art. Several Crafthaus members are included.
