My home studio in Cleveland Heights, Ohio
I am a .... Example: Student, Maker, Educator, etc.
My work is a a marriage of two distinct mediums, metal and polymer clay - the architecture of the metal giving a structure to the softer, tactile quality of the inlays, downplaying color, allowing surface texture and luminous layers to create dimension. I am drawn to texture, line and repetitive patterns in nature. I enjoy taking a pattern, abstracting it, repeating it to the point where it becomes a derived conception of its original inspiration while still celebrating the beauty of the natural element that influences it.

SNAG Toronto part 4

I'll leave my Toronto report with a few notes about the conference lectures and presentations. I'd have to say that there certainly was a mosaic of diversity in the 3+ days at the Royal York Hotel. From Damian Skinner's stoic keynote series on the jewelry making/marketing universe in his musical New Zealand accent, through a series of very short "rapid-fire" presentations by a wide variety of artists, to the Professional Development Seminar that lashed the artists and their works to the…See More
