I and my wife Juljet are doing ceramics more than 30 years, including commisions for interior and exterior ceramics. We are studio artists. We like, when our works have its own "houses", that is when they are "useful" or functional. Art and craft are side by side very long time, and it's a great unity.

Hello Gvidas and Juljet:

Welcome to crafthaus ! I am very glad you joined us. You are our first Lithuanian members, which is really great.

Please add a few images of your work and your comments to the blog/discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

A modern metalsmith/metal artist can be found working in traditional metals as well as in nontraditional materials. The designs can range from the classic to the extravagant, and the techniques can either be centuries old or decidedly current.

The wide range of expression preferences, design options, materials, and processes has lead within our field to unfavorable misconceptions, misunderstandings and in some cases even outright disdain between artists. We appreciate and respect our historical past and acknowledge that current materials have a rightful place in jewelry/object making!
