Hi Jen, so glad you're interested in the exhibition! Looks like I can get the embed code for the film from where it's posted, so if you just pop me a quick email telling me you're interested, then I'll have your contact details and will be able to contact you when I've made the final selections for the exhibition. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hey Jen,

Thanks for the name tag.  Put it to good use.  "Jen Townsend" was out there dancin' her feet off.

How was the wedding?

Exhibition Date May 1 - June 1, 2014 You hear a piece of music and it sends you back in time. Suddenly you remember situations, sights, smells, and certain people as if it happened yesterday. What is the relationship between music and craft? Are there craft pieces that relate to favorite songs? How about a vase made while listening to opera? A table inspired by hard rock? Footwear to go with Lady Gaga? What are the lyrics that draw you in and inspire you to create?See More

A modern metalsmith/metal artist can be found working in traditional metals as well as in nontraditional materials. The designs can range from the classic to the extravagant, and the techniques can either be centuries old or decidedly current.

The wide range of expression preferences, design options, materials, and processes has lead within our field to unfavorable misconceptions, misunderstandings and in some cases even outright disdain between artists. Can the metal and jewelry field overcome its division and send out a much-needed signal?

We appreciate and respect our historical past and acknowledge that current materials have a rightful place in jewelry/object making!
