Hope the enamel cleaned off!

I am glad to hear that Zoe is still involved in the centre. She was helping out on a felting project at the end of my last visit. I am due to do another Artist and Kids workshop this year, so perhaps she will be about for that.

Sarah:

I am glad you like the site and find it helpful in finishing projects :-).

Thank you very much for taking the time to post crafthaus information in your firm, that is exactly what I am hoping for. The site is intended to be of use for a diverse group of artists to get the most varied images and opinions together. I appreciate your help.

Have a good day,
Brigitte

Thank you for the welcome!
I posted the website for the Costume company I work for, http://www.cospec.com/costume_gallery.html. (We mostly do mascots/book characters, etc).
And yes, I graduated from Kent State last December. I'm enjoying this site so far and it's been a big help in motivating me to get some of my own projects finished!

Dear Sarah:

Welcome to crafthaus ! I am very glad you joined us.

At the moment, there is a lot of activity on the site, so if you would like to add some photos of your refurbished costumes to crafthaus, a lot of people would get to see this side of your work as well. I, personally, would be most interested to see that. :-)

From your website, I deduce that you are at Kent State and I just wanted to point out another Kent Grad, Michelle Pajak Reynolds, who is a member at crafthaus and does fabulous pieces. Maybe you would be interested to get in touch with her ?

Also, please feel free to add your comments to the discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.

Again: Welcome !

Raised in Pittsburgh, ceramics artist Sharif Bey is currently an assist professor in the the Art Ed department at Syracuse University.  He'll be visiting his home town and will teach a 2-day workshop at Society of Contemporary Craft later this month.  I asked him a few questions about growing up here and his work, thanks to Brigitte Martin for the introductory question. …

Recent Work- All Steel City Inspired

Posted on January 7, 2013 at 12:30pm 0 Comments

I've been spending a lot of time in the studio lately, it's cold and snowy so the warmth of the enameling kiln is very cozy.  On my walk to the studio I pass some visually interesting metal grates and sewer covers, not to mention all the bridges!

These things are evidence of urban decay. I then combine these images with bits of nature and other elements of…
