"I especially love what you did on this piece. I love the oval grain lines in the center and the way the grain is telegraphing through the colored section but not the textured areas. Beautiful piece."

I hope you had an opportunity to review our Crafthaus calls & will submit:
Earthly Pleasures http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-call-earthly-pleasures

Me, Myself and I will be our 7th show http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-callme-myself-and-i

Now that the past shows are under Exhibit, they are easier for guests coming to the site to find & as you know exhibits remain online permanently.
This is what the exhibition will look like http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/sittingprettytheartsittingpretty

We try to make the process as painless as possible.

A show at Crafthaus has more of an audience then a gallery and offers a permanent stage. We do love gallery shows, but at Crafthaus submission is easy, doesn't cost anything for members.

Dear Sharon:

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for artists, craftsmen/women ! I am very glad you joined us ! We have another member from Hawaii here - Gene Pijanowski is on Honolulu !

Please add thoughts to the blogs and discussion forums that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

Please note that crafthaus is a fully member-financed website, meaning that a small annual fee is involved in being a member . You will find all the necessary information on how to go about this in the FAQs section of the site. Your membership fee is due June 15 and is payable through paypal (preferred, a direct link is provided on crafthaus) check or credit card (email me for details.)

Finally, if there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.

Again: Welcome and enjoy !

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More

Showing Publicly and Building a Legacy Privately

- by Rebecca Rose. 2013, SNAG/crafthaus Scholarship Recipient

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting  in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.

Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
