Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Hearing that you've been working at this for ten years really helps. After a year of working in clay, I'm easily frustrated that my work is less than perfect, but I'll keep at it. Your designs are an inspiration!
I've worked with fabrics for many years (sewing, quilting, smocking, designing a line of children's clothing that I marketed through a crafters organization, and teaching classes). I love working with color. After my mother died, I started making jewelry using her stash of antique buttons, and one thing led to another. The clay allows me to create original components, and work with unique color combinations. I've found it to be a wonderful creative outlet. I'm in the process of adding a 9'x9'space to my house that will be part pantry, part workspace, with lots of windows for natural light. I can't wait 'til it's finished and I can get back to working with my clay.
Can I ask how long you've been doing this? 'Cause if it's been a really long time, there might be hope for me, too...I've only been doing polymer clay for less than a year and your technique looks impossibly refined from this vantage point
