Bread ART

Coolhunting has a creepy post up about an artist in Thailand, Kittiwat Unarrom, who uses dough to icky, edible facsimiles of hand, feet, heads, torsos and other body parts. He comes from a family of breadbakers, and has been doing this grossout art since 2005 (or perhaps earlier, I'm seeing conflicting reports). Coolhunting snip:

The results are unnervingly realistic with eyes, lips and other details constructed out of cashews, raisins and the… Continue

Word for the day.

Posted on August 4, 2008 at 9:08am 0 Comments

From the "Visual Thesaurus" site:

paternoster
It's a prayer! It's a device! It's both! The word is Latin for "our father," and denotes the Christian prayer that begins thus. From there, the word came to denote a regularly recurring bead on a rosary when said prayer was to be recited and from there, the word was used to denote a continuous lift or elevator with platforms, because of its resemblance to a rosary.
