"Amazing photo. Interesting combination of pattern and shapes combined with the silouette of the chair.Did you have to ask permission to photograph them in this space? How did that come about? Harriete"

The Tag Project/Executive Order 9066 Receives a Grant!!

Under the stewardship of the Society of Arts and Crafts Boston, and the support of Beth Ann Gerstein and Fabio Fernandez, The Tag Project/Executive Order 9066 received a significant grant from an anonymous fund to cover travel for the exhibition to five museum venues.  I wish to thank the Society of Arts and Crafts and the five venues for supporting me and for their enthusiasm for the project from the beginning.  The grant will provide funding for shipping, programming and catalogue revenues.…See More

Studio Sanctuaries - Part 2

Few things are more important to an artist than their workspaces. Part sanctuary, part workshop, part hang-out: This exhibit honors our studio spaces where we spend most of our time.

Good morning Wendy,Please look at our calls for Crafthaus artists
Earthly Pleasures http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-call-earthly-pleasures
There are a number of ways an artist can be considered "green." Here are just several:
1. Using found materials and remanufactured objects & materials.
2. Rescued materials, years ago this was known as recycled such as lumber from fallen tree.
3. A ceramic artist may use wood found in the forest... to fuel the kiln.
4. Using materials that are local, not shipped long distance.
5. Using one's hands as opposed to using large machines.

Me, Myself and I http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-callme-myself-and-i
Some ideas: clock, mirror, perfume bottle, brushes, lamp, make up table, vase. A jewelry box or something that can store/hang jewelry. A water glass, a frame. Containers for powder, jars, storage for brushes.. makeup... decorative items... As you can see it is anything that is used or displayed at a makeup table.

If you are not sure if your piece will fit the call, no problem send it to us & we will look at it.
Best,
Marie

Hi Wendy,So nice to see you here. We jury some Crafthaus exhibitions & want to invite you to submit at our current calls:

Earthly Pleasures http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-call-earthly-pleasures

Me, Myself and I http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-callme-myself-and-i

Our purpose in curating shows is to promote good artwork. We try to make the process as painless as possible.

A show at Crafthaus has more of an audience then a gallery and offers a permanent stage. We do love gallery shows, but here at Crafthaus submission is easy, doesn't cost anything.

This a past exhibit khttp://crafthaus.ning.com/group/sittingprettytheartsittingpretty

We hope you will consider submitting.

Regards,
Glen Guarino
