I am a hybrid crafts practitioner specializing in textile based work. I also like to use pearls, beads, ready made and found objects.

Yes I totally agree with your thoughts on generations...and us rebelling against bigger, faster, stronger etc. I realized something similar when I was talking to my mom saying how I find decay beautiful because her garden is deing since it's amost winter and she seems so puzzled by that thought. I think it's ingrained in most cultures and belief systems to hate and fear death and decay and respect growth and strength. That's why I like Mexican culture becuase they have the 'day of the dead'. And hense my interest in mourning jewellery. Idon't see why life should be valued more than death when they are equally important to each other.

And the same for 'repulsive' and 'beautiful' art. You need both. :)

Yeah I haven't checked the discussion lately, but it was getting pretty heated the last time I looked. I think there is confusion over what is meant by repulsive. I don't much like work that is purely gross either...but I love elements...mixing of beauty and fear, horror and love. haha

I definately reccomend exhibiting next year, I was really pleasantly suprised my work went down so well and realised I shouldn't be so quick to cut off the jewellery avenue. Plus we can have an MA reunion!
