I am in Bloomington and I would love to be a part of the guild. Finding a time in the spring to go over photographs and the camera together in the spring would also be fantastic. It would help me a lot.
I am not sure where I will be next fall but if I am still in the area I would love to help out in any way you need (and attend of course) any lectures workshops or symposiums. I can't get enough of that stuff.
Happy Holidays. Hope to see you in the Spring!

I am great. Sorry I never replied to your email...it has been eating at me. At the time I just wasn't in a very good place. I had decided that getting an MFA right after undergrad wasn't the best idea for me. The town wasn't a good match for me personality wise and though I LOVED all the studio time I was just coasting on the academic part and I didn't really want to do my MFA that way. So I was a bit embarrassed about backpedaling like that. I am trying to start my own jewelery business now for a while and we will see how I feel about getting a degree later. I do miss the studio time though, my 9-5 job puts a crimp in things.
If you have any tips for me that would be great-you know...like how you are taking your photos...I am having a horrible time with getting professional quality images.
Hope all this wasn't too overwhelming for you!

Brigitte Martin said… Hello Nicole!
Welcome to crafthaus, the network for fine craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through September 15, 2014.
Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!
Please note that ALL images sent to the website editor are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience (their peers,) so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect!
If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor@live.com anytime, I will do my best to be of help.
I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.
Again: Welcome !
Brigitte Martin

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
