Initial Thoughts on SIERAAD

I intend to work out a more substantial comparison once I've done the ACC show in San Francisco next year, but I couldn't wait to share some of my first impressions about my experiences in Amsterdam.

What's happening with Radical Jewelry Makeover - Santa Fe!

Hi,

Right now we are working with the Santa Fe community to bring together student and professional jewelers for the October Makeover. We are re-designing our curriculum to more effectively bring participants up to speed on ethical practices and sourcing for jewelry. We are looking for a house to rent while in Santa Fe (at a non-profit rate (as close to free as possible)) so that all of our project assistants and documentarians can stay under one roof. And we are yes, fundraising. We…

First Meeting of the New Semester

Woke up and left for the first meeting of the semester, it wasn't mandatory but sometimes things are about showing up and making an appearance-even if no one cares to share that tidbit. Talk of budgets and cuts and how to enterprise on OPM- Other People's Money- to ensure the funds for research and travel grants left me with a more solid foundation on the workings of the University system. As… Continue

It's the last day of 2010, and I'm trying to stay optimistic as the next year lumbers in.

I've been trying to make a go at this working artist thing since I finished my degree in 2008, and although I haven't figured out how to survive, I haven't failed yet either. For the record…
