Mother Teresa Pointillism Portrait Wins!

Max Eberle, professional artist from Dover, Ohio, won First Place with his portrait in pointillism titled Teresa In Prayer. The portrait competition was sponsored by Fine Art America http://www.fineartamerica.com and focused on portraits of famous people in pointillism, a unique style of art which requires painting or drawing with dots or dabs. Lucid Dream Art

I went to bed as normal last night; meaning midnight and reached for my daily crossword puzzles, Sudoko, and switched on Criminal Mind repeats on ION. So there's another hour of awake time. Finally, my eyes tire and I'm ready to turn off the light and try to sleep. As an artist, sometimes this is difficult as I lay there and actually worry about

Ancient Art in AZ

I recently visited Canyon de Chelly in Northeastern Arizona to get re-connected to the spiritual vibes and visual inspirations that come from the area. We camped in a Navajo owned private campground called "Spider Rock Campground". Howard, the owner, plays Native flute music every morning to start the day. He rents tent and RV sites but also has primitive hogans for rent as well. And if you like to seek inner peace through traditional ceremonies, Howard has two Sweat Lodges. One is a Navajo Way… Continue

Learning My Colors

Do you remember when you first learned about colors? I can’t be for sure, but I must have learned “my colors” from my father as he painted tiny little faces on his fishing lures. We would sit at our dining table for hours as he secured each small metal lure in a mini-clipped vice and then delicately created “alluring tiny faces” to attract the biggest of fish in the lake. I remember his determination at painting perfect little yellow circles within larger black or red circles for the eyes. Now,… Continue

News From Arizona Artist

Hello! I am new to Crafthaus...haven't really got my act/shop together much yet. BUT IT WILL HAPPEN! Currently I am in a remote part of Arizona and am focusing on promoting my art via my blog . I spend most of my time doing pointillism paintings, both portraits and landscapes. Currently, I'm working on a large painting of blackbirds. They are everywhere here!
