Glass artist Amber Cowan uses vintage “glass cullet” to create her head-turning sculptural works. Cowan’s signature feature in this series is to create in one color. In experienced hands, implementing one single color in a composition is downright magical. Cowan also intersperses here and there tiny accents of slightly different shades within the same value or transparent pieces to enhance the dimensionality. We’ve also included one image that shows the scale used by Cowan for much of her work.
This Monday, enjoy the exploration and results of the use of a single color in a composition.
