Interdisciplinary. Community. Advocacy. Humor.
Attended last night's opening reception for the artists-in-residence at Lillstreet Art Center. As always, this was a well-attended event with interesting and innovative work on display.
Aurélie Guillaume showed her newest work on pre-enameled steel. She paints directly onto the flat, light-weight surface which allows her to go large and work faster than in her usual cloisonné technique. I love her imagery, so humorous.
Peter Antor showed some of the lamps he has recently worked on and also had great new brooches in the display case. Lucky for us, both of them will extend their residencies at Lillstreet Art Center for another year. Awesome!
Charity White showed two absolutely brilliant ceramic sculptures. Love her work:
Other than that, I took additional photos of Lillstreet's various ceramic offerings (Brian Malnassy sure knows how to curate) and of course, I just had to visit Nora McCarthy and see all the beautiful updates she's done to the jewelry selection at Lillstreet. I posted work information underneath the images wherever possible.
