Best of America Jewelry Artists Volume 2

Is anyone familiar with this series of art jewelry books by Kennedy Publishing? if so, have you ever been in one of their books and actually received it. I am interested in more information about who they are??

I understand that if you aren't in any books that this may seem like a great opportunity....but if a book has limited credibility, it seems like a poor investment.

Hi Alison,

I have been in the Michigan book and the National book.  I realize that Kennedy is a small publishing operation that takes money for placement but it is fairly inexpensive marketing.   I think of it as a co-operative venture, everyone pays to cover the costs.  Small potatoes if you are already a published author but kind of a big deal if you are just beginning to get published.  I don't regret that I have participated.  It was fun seeing my work in the books.   :)

thank you for this...but it's too late for this time. they seem disorganized. When I first heard from them about being in the book I had asked several artists and they all said that it couldn't hurt. I had to send them my pics at least 3 times and I figured I'd buy one book but I ordered it on May 1 and still have not received it-they're looking into it. I wish I didn't buy it because it's turn, yet, into another hassle with them. Schiffer publishing on the other hand, is a pleasure to deal with--plus you don't pay to be in the book.

In my humble opinion, don't pay to be in the book. The books are not that good. As far as I can tell they accept everyone that pays, rather than selecting work based on quality or themetic evaluation. The printing is not that good, nor the layout.

I am in a few of the books from years past, and didn't even buy the book.

While this evaluation is rather harsh, I am not talking about them behind their back.

I told them the same thing to their face (over the phone.)
