PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
In the fall of 2014, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) will host CraftTexas 2014, the eighth in a series of juried exhibitions showcasing the best in Texas-made contemporary craft. The exhibition will feature artists from all over the state who work in clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and found/recycled materials.
The exhibition serves as a starting place for the general public to appreciate the depth and breadth of craft being made in our own communities and across the state. Additionally, this unique show provides Texas artists the opportunity to be considered for inclusion in major national museum and private collections.
CraftTexas 2014 will be juried by Carol Sauvion, the visionary behind the PBS series, Craft in America, and HCCC Texas Masters, Piero Fenci, Ceramics Department Head, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Clint Willour, Curator of the Galveston Arts Center.
