PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
Every year, the crafthaus membership and their supporters decide by anonymous, popular vote which of their fellow members will be the recipient of this grant!
This grant is awarded every September to a crafthaus member, regardless of location, professional background or craft field. It is intended to provide assistance/funding for an individual or group project.
Funding Amount: $400 max.
Submission Deadline: August 15 annually (email received.)
What happens in September ?
Submitted projects will be proposed to the crafthaus membership in early September (every year) and will be up for public vote for 15 days. All projects will be proposed anonymously, without revealing any personal information (name etc.) about the submitting party.
Information given to crafthaus voters:
a) Outline of project, purpose/goal
b) Start date of project and duration
c) Location of project
d) Requested funding amount
e) Other information, e.g. images or other relevant (visual) documentation to further illustrate project
What is the payoff for the crafthaus membership ?
The satisfaction of knowing that their vote enabled a fellow crafthauser to get funded for a great project. In addition, the recipient will receive prominent blogspace on crafthaus (in other words: a lot of exposure), and will regularly (at least 1-2 times a month!) update the crafthaus membership on the progress of the winning project. The membership is invited to follow the project process from beginning to end, ask questions and discuss the project with the artist/artist group during the implementation phase.

For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
