Monday’s Child - A Weekly Creative Shot in the Arm

Gyongy Laky - art, craft, design, engineering, architecture, activism, environmentalism

Gyongy Laky is attracted to humble materials. Wood, wire, screws, nails and some unexpected items work their way into her vessels and sculpture. Her work speaks with a loud voice for the environment and social issues. Her extensive use of natural materials is the perfect vehicle to emphasize her message.

In one sense, we are drawn to Laky’s work with jaw-dropping wonder, just completely blown away by her transformation of simple materials. In another, we find her message to be presented in a way that just cannot be ignored. Her art provokes. It makes you think.
