Yong Joo Kim - the process of reconfiguration

Yong Joo Kim explores the value of the mundane, industrial material, velcro. She hand-cuts, sews and “reconfigures” it into wearable art. The result of her extensive, controlled exploration is quite literally beyond words. Being both subtle and in your face bold at the same time, Kim’s work stops you dead in your tracks. Kim is also a prolific artist and Google Images is filled with her work. It’s worth a few minutes to view.
