Residencies to USA, Canada, and International Artists to
Study Foundry and Pottery Crafts at a Wisconsin Arts Center

John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC)

Residencies to USA, Canada, and International individual artists working in all disciplines to explore the practice of foundry and pottery at an arts center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The purpose of this residency is to provide artists with technology, resources, and materials to explore new processes, ideas, and perspectives.

Artists-in-residence receive 24-hour access to studio space, materials, use of equipment, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip transportation, and a modest weekly stipend.

Each year, up to 16 artists are selected for residencies. Residencies run from two to six months in length.

Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Artists are selected for residencies that give them access to the resources, technology, and materials of Kohler Co. in the Pottery and/or Foundry areas of the factory in Kohler, WI.

No experience with clay or cast metal is required, just an interest in pursuing a new body of work and being open to new ideas.

Applications for the 2019 residencies will be available from December 1, 2017 - April 1, 2018.
