SF Chronicle uses image from Craft Forward

Met this interesting student, Jeffrey Basile, at Craft Forward because of his killer sweatshirt, and the SF Chronicle used my photo in this Sunday's STYLE section. Check out the article on SFGate in SFunzipped (happily I got photo credit in the article, can you believe it! It pays to ask.)
He was participating in the Local Wisdom fashion project headed by Dr. Kate Fletcher, London College of Fashion.

The project entails photographing and audio recording stories of garments and accessories of people "to capture and celebrate the ingenuity of communities with respect to their clothes." Dr. Fletcher "plans to build a store of knowledge about fashion creativity of the grassroots and to present it in the hope that will inspire others." She's been gathering stories from England, Berlin, and next Dublin. Glad she got some local Bay Area flavor to add to the mix!

Congratulations emiko. Tell us how the Cronicle "found" your photo.

The sweatshirt was rather unusual....not the standard fair. Do you know his story?

I am assuming it has something to do with the "rainbow flag" or Pride flag for the gay /lesbian /trans gender movement. There was a presentation at the Craft Forward conference that says two colors were dropped from the flag - pink and turquoise. Of course, everyone takes insult from this, but I am betting it was an economic issue.
