In 2011 Chipstone Foundation invited fifteen artists from the US and the UK to break from their usual practice and make a work of art with one tool only. The exhibition presents these works together with short videos produced by each artist.

The Tool at Hand is a touring exhibition coming up at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland. Artists include David Clarke, Helen Carnac, Michael Eden, Ndidi Ekubia, Liz Collins, Chad Curtis, Joy Garnett, Lisa Gralnick, Tavs Jorgensen, Mark Lindquist, Beth Lipman, Gord Peteran, John Prown, Caroline Slotte and Hongtao Zhoo.
