Your first time at SNAG? It's mine, too. Phew, now I'll know someone. I'm really no good at coming out in a crowd. It'll be great to meet you.

Good morning, Vickie. Thanks so much for the compliments. I'm finding navigating through digital social networking is complicated. I hope being involved with Crafthaus will help. Will you be in Toronto in May at the SNAG conference?

I'd be happy to tell you about my flutemaking. I have videos and descriptions on my website at http://www.lunnflutes.com

We jury some of the online exhibitions at Crafthaus and are inviting you to submit to our calls-
Earthly Pleasures http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/crafthausexhibition/forum/topics/open-call-earthly-pleasures

Sitting Pretty Part 2 is how the show will look http://crafthaus.ning.com/group/sittingprettytheartsittingpretty
A show at Crafthaus has more of an audience then a gallery and offers a permanent stage to the world. We do love gallery shows, but at Crafthaus submission is easy, doesn't cost anything for members. In addition to our calls there are others you may be interested in.
We try to make the submission process as painless as possible! If you have any questions please let us know. Glen & Marie

Hello Vickie !

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for artists, craftsmen/women ! I am very glad you joined us !

Please add your thoughts to the blogs and discussion forums that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

Please note that crafthaus is a fully member-financed website, meaning that a small annual fee is involved in being a member . You will find all the necessary information on how to go about this in the FAQs section of the site. Your membership fee ($20 for a year or $35 for 2 yrs) is due June 15 and payable through paypal (preferred, a direct link is provided on the crafthaus main page) check or credit card (email me -crafthauseditor@live.com-for details.)

Finally, if there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.

Again: Welcome and enjoy !

Steve Shelby left a comment for John Lunn
"Hi John. I love your flute. I worked at a job for 23 years making keys and the metal parts for contrabassoons. Unfortunately, there was no creativity involved. The upside is that I learned a huge amount about working with metal and making tools."

John Lunn replied to John Lunn's discussion SNAG Toronto part 4 in the group Tapestry of Talents: Bringing Your Whole Voice to Your Craft
"It is a good article. It's a bit disappointing that the 3 artists they interview are men when it was so obvious that 90% of the Trunk Show exhibitors were women. I'd like to do a blog or two on the influence of women in the arts and how it…"

Steve Shelby commented on Rebecca Rose's group Showing Publicly and Building a Legacy Privately
