James, I was planning to attend you workshop at Penland until today, when I checked dates and the workshop is going to start the last day of the Craft Boston show...so I won't be able to sign up!!!
BOOOooooo
Are you planning to teach somewhere else next year?
I really really really want to try the mokume-kami.
Hey James, I was a student at UNT when you did the spinning demo and workshop. Graduated from there a couple of years ago. I have enjoyed spinning ever since. Still a member of the Metals club. Going through the frustration of trying to get into grad school and building up my portfolio. Thanks for adding me to your list.
Loved seeing your work at Yuma. Still thinking about it. I really miss turning and you reminded me how amazing it can be. Are you headed back this year.
may be from the video last part...that was hilarious!!
Mokume-Kami is amazing and you explain it so well...what a great technique!!
and the use you have done of this techniques in your pieces is amazing...super super super!
Isn't paper an incredible media to work with?!
and now a "personal" question for you:
have you even met Margaux Lange?
;-D
Hi James!!!!!!!
I love the new look--it is totally you!!! Miss you and hope that you are doing well. I hope to see you at SNAG and reconnect!! I am curating an exhibition of Japanese metal work for Grand Valley, Oct-Nov 2012. Would we be able to have the exhibition travel to Penn State? I could drive it to you. I am still in the super early phase of the planning. I just feel that if the work traveled the whole way over here it should be shown at more venues then just GVSU.
Warmly, R
Welcome to crafthaus ! I am very glad you joined us ! Funny - I never knew your eyes were blue - oh well..... :-) You really DO look like Ken... strange.
Please add some images of your work and your comments to the blog/discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.
I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.
If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.
Again: Welcome !
