Hi Adam,

We live just a few blocks from the Glass Center.  Your work looks familiar.

I havn't been up to Touchstone since I taught there about 6 years ago. Please do keep in touch.

The blue steel is reclaimed material...it was part of a mechanism that would be picked up with a tow motor and used to tilt/pour a 55 gallon drum. I cut the useable pieces of steel out, worked the surface, drilled holes/filed them square/rectangle, etc. The other elements of the boxes are forged from reclaimed material (spline gears, etc.) as well.

Yes, I would be interested in teaching a workshop at Touchstone. I've taught at Penland, Peters Valley and Haystack...and I'm on the board of Haystack School. I've heard many positive things about the studios at Touchstone. Hopefully, we can work something out.

Thanks, Adam.

I'm drawn to the color and texture of your glass stacks in the Fallowfield Stacks piece. Very nice. I also like the textures you achieve on the more classic vase forms.

Yes, let's be friends Adam!  Thanks for the glowing comments about my work.

Your glasswork is beautiful - great color and patina. Is that "smokestack" glass?  Seeing the photo of the molten glass brings back the thrill I felt during the 3 or so years I did glassblowing in the mid-80's!  Well, I'm still thrilled to be doing what I do and seeing the work of others who are as excited about their path.

Oh man, that is such a hot smokestack/Pittsburgh piece!  love the display.  You know I have one of your tall vessels?   Tammy, the volunteer from SCC, bought it during the auction, and she knew I loved the piece so she gave it to me later as a goodbye present!  It sits on my Jim Rose steel cabinet.

Hello Adam,

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for fine craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through August 15, 2012.

Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!

Please note that ALL images sent to the website editor are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience (their peers,) so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect! :-)

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor@live.com anytime, I will do my best to be of help.

I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.

Again: Welcome !

Brigitte Martin
