Hi Kristin - thanks for the friend add - I've been lurking here on Crafthaus for a few years now. Would like to have a discussion with you sometime about the role of ritual in your practice - I am very interested in how crafted objects can create everyday rituals that disrupt the profanity of modern industrial life.
Look forward to the next opportunity to have that conversation In person

Glad to hear that the prelim $$$ for your CoLab project trip came through. Why not? You do good stuff! Remind me where you'll be in Aotearoa (Maori for NZ, but you knew that, right?). I have a few friends there, jewelers, and if you're going to be anywhere nearby...well you get the picture. Get back to me.
Prompted by the new song you uploaded, I looked at your personal page again while listening to the song. I also re-read your statement and saw the many photos of your work that I hadn't had the time to really look at during the past frenzied weeks.
Aside from telling you how much I enjoy seeing the range of materials you work with, and the amazing results :-)) , I was particularly impressed by your thoughtful and reflective Artist Statement.
I can absolutely relate to your sentiment about studio time sometimes being a rare commodity and how that impedes the creative process in the worst way.
Like you, I have set myself a fairly strict schedule (or ritual) that enables me to spend a certain amount of hours daily in the studio. So far, that has worked well for me. I like being organized in what I do, therefore coming up and sticking to a schedule is the best way for me to go. I appreciate the "piece of mind" which translates into quiet time for me to THINK.
hey kristin, thanks for your comment.
was away for a show in bellevue and am finally back in my beloved desert.
adding you as a friend and honored to be in such great great company!
i actually think i have seen your work before....keep it up, looking forward to chat and share soon.

At the moment, there is a lot of activity on the site, so if you would add some photos of your work to crafthaus, a lot of people would see your pieces. When you do that, please be sure to add your images via the main PHOTO link on the website. That way your photos get added to the slideshow.
Also, please feel free to add your comments to the discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.
I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.
If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.

I hope you'll send images for "Define Metal and Fiber", check out online exhibitions. Some of your pieces certainly would fit right it.
