Yeah, I am still negotiating if it will be possible to teach at Touchstone, but things are looking good. I would love to grab a beer when/if I am in PA.
Your ears must have been ringing - I was JUST talking about getting chickens from you! I don't think we'll be ready til next summer, but we're totally into it!
The ring you commented on is actually a rendering of something I designed in Rhinoceros (a digital 3DM software). Sorry, no foundry. . .
I don't know if your interested in rapid prototyping but, I will be printing a version of this ring in stainless steel. I will also be making a low temperature vulcanized mold of this ring that I have printed on an Eden Objet printer in Durus White. My primary objective is to then cast the ring in sterling silver or gold so that I can tension set Herkimer Diamonds between the "synapse" elements [the ring is inspired by the electrical exchange between neurons]. I'm also going to print one or two extra stainless steel to play with tension setting/capturing various materials within the constraints of printed steel (printed steel has poignantly different characteristics than cast, forged or fabricated steel)
Thank you so much for the encouraging response! Its much appreciated :)
Hi Sean, good to hear from you. I am doing well, we put in a nice garden too and now I am leaving it for 4 weeks. I am going to teach a summer session at SIUE and then a week at Arrowmont... hopefully I will get a little studio time and home grown veggies when I return!
cheers!
"I think I burned out early. I'm not used to being in a crowd scene that much and snuck away when I needed a break. We'll all meet up again, though, I'm sure!"

"John. I am sorry I did not meet you. My fault. I had a massively congested head and was floating around in a bit of a haze from it. I may have some thoughts on your thoughts if I can gather them. glad your writing them…"
"I agree 100% Brigitte. It is more work than most attendees will ever know to put together a conference like this and I, too, raise a toast of HEAR HEAR! to all involved. It was a great conference.
I hope I will be able to help SNAG with whatever…"
"While, I'm offering some responses and feelings about the conference, it in no way diminishes the overall view that I really enjoyed it and thought it very worthwhile. All of the presentations and exhibits were valuable and help create a…"
"Regarding whether or not Toronto was a "good conference", I do respectfully disagree with Harriete. This was my 6th conference (Cleveland, Philly, Houston, Seattle, Phoenix, Toronto) and while I liked them all for different reasons, I…"
"Just to respond to a few sentences in this particular post: John said, "At the SNAG conference almost everyone had a college degree in the arts." Actually I think you might be surprised at the number of people at the Conference and…"
