Place of Work ? Example: Studio, College, Gallery, Museum, ...)
My Studio Place
I am a .... Example: Student, Maker, Educator, etc.
I enjoy exploring simple geometric forms defined by the intersection of straight lines. My challenge has been to capture these forms in fine craft and contemporary art pieces in a way that is generally appealing and yet evokes a personal response. Over time my original emphasis on function has gradually been replaced by an expression of form.
Although I work mostly with wood because of its universal appeal and endless variations, I will often incorporate weathered metal, anodized aluminum and found objects into my pieces as a way of complementing and drawing attention to the basic shapes.
My work to date includes open and closed vessels, conceptual pieces, and wall art.
