Growth. The swelling, surfacing, and bubbling-up of all manner of THINGS.
The classical techniques and materials I am drawn to serve as a framework to explore somewhat surrealistic concepts, specifically convulsive beauty. I see my work as a hybrid of two aesthetics, bred for a stronger beauty than the parent strains allow; structured and predetermined design (chain, prongs and cabochons) merge with the unbridled growth of pathologies.
The heterogeneous result creates an escalating tension caused by the containment of growth; organic mounds that boil up and present gems, but are themselves captured by gold plated prongs.
I use color to maintain (sometimes tilt) the balance; intense hues that mimic gemstones or layers of fleshy skin tones represent the varied offspring of an experimental pairing.
A persistent component of my inspiration is the incubation of thought;
I believe that design and aesthetics are infectious,
spreading and mutating from one person to the next.
A constant growth.

Thank you very much for your membership payment and support of crafthaus. Your membership is good through 4-15-2010.
I saw that you also became a member of the SNAG group that has recently formed on crafthaus, so I already look much forward to your future participation in the groups and discussion forums. Nathan Poglein has started the group, but really anyone interested can add discussions and blogs to it.
I am really glad to see you continuing here !!
Best, Brigitte
