DESCRIPTION:
Think outwardly! MAGgrant 2013 will be awarding $1000 toward a Community based project. This required element of Community Involvement, whether it be the MAG community, or the Bay Area community at large, can be the starting point of an unique vision. Think creatively!
The project could entail an exhibition, an event or happening, an exchange of communities/cities/artists, a publication, a class. MAG is open to all applicable and viable project ideas. The required element is Community involvement – whether it be the MAG community, or Bay Area community at large. The applicant must be a MAG member but does not have to reside in the Bay Area; however, the project must be actuated in the Bay Area by Oct 2013. Any proposal submitted may be considered for future MAG programming/MAG Happenings. A MAG advisor will be assigned to winner to oversee progress of project. Documentation of the project’s process/progress will be expected. The recipient is required to make a presentation to the general membership on their project or their creative process after completion of the project. The presentation is intended to create a dialogue between members and to share experiences. The Guild will archive this presentation and will retain the right to use the presentation material at any future date. Recipients will make arrangements for the presentation with the selection committee after being notified of their award. Depending on the proposal chosen, MAG will lend administrative/promotional support as needed. ELIGIBILITY: The grant is open to all who are current or become current MAG members. Projects must have a focus on Community and be actuated in the Bay Area by 2013.
