Every now and then I come across interesting efforts in jewelry marketing. This is one of those cases. Anamaria Dobras from Romania takes a page from the fashion world and showcases her work via video productions that mimic photo shoots. So far, she has created one for each of her collections.

From her website:

“I wish to bring joy to people through my creations and my aim is to design pieces worthy of bearing a sentimental value, along with the material one. The attachment towards an object, garnished with the wearer’s feelings, can transform it into a precious gem of the soul.”

"The collection was realized through the entangling of two completely different approaches that end up creating a vibrating image of diversified materials and compositions. This is the idea of water, movement, floating, reflection and last but not least, contortion The energy of water is built up and displayed in a functional context, destined for the statement author jewelry consumers and the art and design lovers."

“Nebula” focuses on the blending of history and tradition, with subtle pinches of occult, magic and mystery, inspired by a slightly futuristic and fictional view.

From a perspective beyond ergonomics, the pieces included in this collection bear a talismanic significance.

Slightly different from classical jewelry, this collection also includes body accessories.
Traditional, Romanian symbols are subtly present in the composition of the jewels.

Out of the nebulous conjunction between the old and the new, one vivid question arises, "Considering the origins, what's next?”

The materials used come to the aid of the talismanic symbolism: 925 silver, semi-precious stones, antlers, bone and wood. The futuristic idea is revealed through the subtle engravings on some of the pieces and the hammering technique accentuates the archaism.

I think that's a good and fair assessment. I agree with you, Linda, that there was more focus on video art than on the jewelry which would have been my preference too. However, getting people to pay attention in the first place is a feat in itself, and that was definitely accomplished.
I am posting these marketing ideas to, hopefully, inspire makers to be way more inventive with their marketing than they typically are. A lot of our images and promo efforts could definitely use some jazzing up to differentiate itself.

The videos are visually interesting, and, from what I could tell, the jewelry designs are interesting. I found that i was more interested in the visual impact of the videos, than in the jewelry. I wanted to see  more of the jewelry. It seemed to me that the videographer (or whoever made the design decisions re: the filming) was more interested in creating great imagery, rather than creating great images of the jewelry.
