Asagi Maeda - A Passionate Narrative of City Life

Asagi Maeda sculpts minute details of a big city life. Bracelets erupt with skylines of tall buildings, alongside docks, and parks. Many of Maeda’s pieces are populated with golden figures performing daily tasks, playing music, commuting or simply “people watching.” The work is fabricated in wood, sterling silver, gold, Plexi, resin, and enamel. So diminutive and so incredibly detailed, each piece is candidly narrative. Medea captures what is swallowed up and tossed to the wind in our day-to-day routine. These moments are miniaturized and permanently captured to honor how people experience daily life - in the big city.
